From Pastor Eileen States
A new season is upon us. I know that Fall is seen as a time where things begin to change colors and either die or become dormant for a few months, but I love this season of the year. It's the time for harvesting what has been planted.
These past eight months many of us have dug deeper into our Bibles - sometimes in personal study, sometimes in small groups, sometimes by hearing the Word preached. Every verse tucked away in memory, every moment of reflection, and every prayer offered over God’s promises has been like seeds planted in good soil. Now we begin to see the fruit: stronger faith, renewed hope, and greater courage to face each day.
Paul reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). The harvest of God’s Word may come in quiet peace during trials, in wisdom for decisions, or in opportunities to share encouragement with others.
As you look back on this year, it is my desire for each of you, that you celebrate not just the sowing but the reaping—the joy of seeing God’s Word take root and flourish in your life. And as a new season begins, let us keep planting His Word, trusting that the harvest will always be abundant in His time.
God designed our lives to flow in seasons, just like the turning of spring to summer, fall to winter. Each season has its beauty and its purpose, even when it feels uncertain or uncomfortable. Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that God is present in every change and that nothing is wasted in His timing.
For our children, seasons bring new growth—first steps, first words, first days of school. For our youth, seasons bring discovery—learning who they are and how God has gifted them. For adults, seasons often bring responsibility—building homes, raising families, making decisions that shape the future. For our elders, seasons bring wisdom—a deep well of experience and faith to guide the generations coming after them.
In every stage, God is faithful. The laughter, the tears, the planting, the harvesting—all are woven together by His hand. Instead of fearing change, we can embrace it as evidence that God is moving us forward in His purpose.
So whether you are just beginning life’s journey, in the busyness of the middle, or reflecting on years well lived, know this: every season matters to God, and every season holds a place in His eternal story.
