I grew up with Net 98 and all the satellite evangelism series at my church. As I was thinking about it today, I don’t know if it was the nature of the series or my immaturity as a Christian, but I never got the Jesus part. I never saw how Jesus fit into the scary prophecy stuff…it just always left me discouraged, not seeking to know Jesus better, just terrified that I couldn’t possibly be ready for heaven. I missed Jesus.

Fast forward to today as a more mature Christian, and as I study those same parts of scripture, I see a much different picture. It’s all about Jesus, friends! It’s all about seeing the nature and identity of who God is, who Jesus is and who the Holy Spirit is. It’s not about me and figuring things out on my own (when has that ever worked out). It’s about understanding and embracing the Holy, Perfect, Loving and Divine nature of our God.

Don’t miss out on who He is! Don’t miss Him! As the Holy Spirit is knocking on the door of your heart, don’t push that away; lean into Him, lean into His prodding.

I’m praying daily for our church, you and me, to desire to learn more about Jesus, to want to open our Bibles, to pray together, to tell other people about Jesus, to serve together, to open our hearts and minds to those who have just found Jesus and come alongside each other in this beautiful journey of following our Savior and Redeemer.

“Great and marvelous are your deeds,

Lord God Almighty.

Just and true are your ways,

King of the nations.

Who will not fear you, Lord,

and bring glory to your name?

For you alone are holy.

All nations will come

and worship before you,

for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Revelation 15:3-4
