Thoughts from our team...

Work Like the Wasps

September 8, 2022

From Pastor Cody Paige

I went out on my porch the other day and made a frightening discovery. I discovered that there is a wasp nest forming on my porch underneath the light fixture. While I do not want them on my porch, I couldn’t help but observe and watch them. What I observed is that they work as a team. A couple build the nest, so go back and forth to gather supplies, I even noticed some watching guard. What was even deeper for me is that they don’t have a big nest, it’s very small. Yet they had so much passion, organization, and dedication over something small. Wasps understand that what is small will grow to become large with intentional organization, passion, and teamwork.

This teamwork I witnessed reminded me of 1 Corinthians 12:26,27, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

Maybe you’re reading this and want to be part of building the church. There are plenty of opportunities such as Pathfinders, Sabbath School teachers, Greeters, etc. If you feel called to serve please reach out to our office.

Paul says each of us in church has a purpose and function. Some preach, teach, cook, etc. No matter what your role is it is vitally important to the church. We should work like the wasps. Dedicated, organized, and passionate.

Sincerely,

Pastor Paige
