The Word Made Flesh
December 9, 2021
From Pastor Cody
Isn’t it baffling that when The Trinity decided to send Jesus to Earth, they chose to send him as a baby. Not a hero like Hercules, but a baby. Not Wiseman, but a baby. Not a Rich Man, but a baby. The very first time man looked upon divinity was baby Jesus. A Jesus who was drooling. A Jesus would had to learn Hebrew to communicate. A Jesus that had to go through puberty.
The Bible says in John 1:14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
He became a human just like you and me. The one key difference is that unlike you and me, He went through this life without sin. As we celebrate this holiday and consider the Baby Jesus, remember that the face of God was humble, so we should be humble. Remember that He had to stumble as He learned to walk, so be patient with yourself and others. Most importantly remember that He knows the struggles of humanity, yet didn’t sin and be thankful.
As we celebrate family, friends, food, and gifts let us also celebrate Jesus being born among us.
Happy Holidays
