The Shepherds

Yay! December is here and with it an extra special time to focus on Jesus. Each Friday and Saturday night to start and finish Sabbath, our family has a special worship. Recently, we've been watching The Chosen. The first episode we watched (The Shepherd) was particularly meaningful. As I attempted to hold in my tears and not turn into a blubbering mess on our couch, we talked about how amazing it would have been to have spent years reading about, hearing about, praying about the coming Messiah. Can you imagine spending all that time yearning for the Messiah...and then getting to see Him?! Can you imagine being the ones chosen to hear and see the angels and then being chosen to see this tiny creature that is also Creator.

The part of the story that I often breeze past is in Luke 2:17-18:

When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what has been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

They experienced the angels' message. They beheld Jesus. They told their world.

Today as we celebrate the First Advent, let's not forget to tell our world about Him, looking forward to His return.
