Thoughts from our team...

God will meet you there

April 18, 2024

From Pastor Joe Wamack

“Sometimes life is so hard you can only do the next thing. Whatever that is just do the next thing. God will meet you there.”

I like this quote. I keep it in my phone to remind me that Life is hard but God is good. Many times, the options for our future look nebulous. We can’t see beyond the next step. Maybe that is okay. Maybe trusting in God for this step, nothing but this step is good because I know that He will lead me one step, then two steps until He and I are in a divine dance of He leads and I follow.

There is a story in John 4, a man whose son is sick goes to ask Jesus for healing. He has heard about Jesus and now he has a need. He has a sick child and out of love and desperation, he seeks out and comes to Jesus.

“The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering. So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” And he himself believed, and all his household.” John‬ ‭4‬:‭49‬-‭53‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The man asked for healing for his son. Jesus told him to go. The Bible says the man “believed the word that Jesus spoke and went on his way.” The man acted on what he heard and what he knew. He hadn’t seen the results, he couldn’t see beyond this moment, but he moved and acted on faith. This gave Jesus opportunity to bring healing.

Unless we step out-take that chance and leap out in faith, God can’t do for us unless we allow Him the space to do for us.

What about you and me? Where can we move? What doors can we let Jesus push open when we get out of the way? Whatever you are going through-God will meet you there. Blessings MAC Family!
